I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Wisconsin, a National Certified Counselor and a member of the American Counseling Association. I am trained in EMDR and other trauma therapies. I am an Adoption Competent therapist, trained through the Center for Adoption Support and Education . I've been in private practice as a psychotherapist since 2012.
My approach to helping you improve your life will be compassionate and insight-oriented. I believe that humor helps healing and that you are your own best expert.
I also believe that life and relationships can cloud our ability to know ourselves wisely. My job will be to help you know yourself well -- where you are now, where you've been and where you're headed.
Kindness Matters Counseling embodies how I try to live my own life. With so much suffering and divisiveness in the world, there is no such thing as too much kindness. It's simple. It's universal. It costs us nothing.
Prior to forming Kindness Matters Counseling, I spent eight years with the Lighthouse Counseling Services group in Pewaukee, WI and worked as a domestic violence counselor at The Women's Center in Waukesha.
I will bring my experiences not just as a therapist, but as a parent, a partner, a colleague, a daughter, a sister, a student, a thinker, a reader and a writer to our work together.
What matters most is that you feel supported. I'm in if you're in.
